The story of Bream Creek Vineyard…..

Overlooking the breathtaking seascape of Marion Bay and Maria Island in South Eastern Tasmania, Bream Creek is one of the pioneers of the modern Tasmanian wine industry.  The vineyard was planted in 1974, making it one of the earliest commercial vineyards established in Tasmania, and was purchased in 1990 by Fred Peacock, one of Tasmania’s leading viticulturists. Fred’s priority was to increase Pinot Noir plantings and introduce Sauvignon Blanc and Schönburger (the first commercial plantings in the Southern Hemisphere of this very rare German grape). Reflecting Fred’s dedication, passion and drive for perfection, the vineyard is now a 7.5 hectare showcase of premium Tasmanian varieties, with all vines hand pruned and all grapes hand-picked.  

Bream Creek produces wines that are renowned as complex and elegant.  Since 1990, Bream Creek has won 38 wine show trophies and over 920 wine show medals, a reflection of the meticulous care and attention given to all aspects of the vineyard. Due to our boutique nature our production each year is very small, and a number of our wines are not widely available outside of Tasmania. We do not currently have a cellar door but have plans to open one by the end of 2021 (fingers crossed!) – in the meantime you can purchase all of the current wines in our range via our secure online store. The minimum purchase is only 6 bottles, and you can mix and match between our wide range of wine styles!
