M2 Logistics was established in Launceston, Tasmania by two local pharmacists (Martin Quinn and Matthew Will) to assist organisations during the current COVID-19 crisis. Martin, a Burnie boy and Matthew, a life long Launcestonian, recognised the difficulties being experienced in sourcing raw materials for production of hand sanitiser throughout the country. This, along with the fact that many healthcare facilities were in fact going to face the prospect of not being able to source a product that met the appropriate criteria for medical facility use, led the pair to setup and secure supply channels through their extensive industry contacts. M2 Logistics approached well known TGA manufacturer, Tasmanian Alkaloids, to co-ordinate production thus making their hand sanitiser product fully compliant with the TGA’s Therapeutic Goods Amendment (Excluded Goods – Hand Sanitisers) Determination 2020.
With the assistance of Tasmanian Alkaloids, M2 Logistics has been able to rapidly make bulk quantities of Ethanol 80% hand sanitiser available to the Tasmanian market.
Martin and Matthew both have widespread experience in retail and hospital pharmacy as well as wholesale manufacture and supply of medicines and medical products all over Australia. They have experience in providing locally prepared sterile injectable products to Tasmanian healthcare facilities and prior to selling their retail pharmacy businesses in Kings Meadows, Launceston and Newtown, Hobart a couple of years ago they also managed the supply and distribution for a large pharmacy group in Tasmania.
M2 Logistics has been providing 500mL pump pack bottles to the Tasmanian Health Service for utilisation in the State’s public hospitals during the COVID-19 crisis.
A portion of sanitiser produced will be donated to organisations around Tasmania
