Mona is Australia’s largest private museum, and was built by David to house his collection of ancient, modern and contemporary art. Situated on the banks of the Derwent, Mona is David’s playground and experiment: we need art, he says, but for what? Mona is also home to bars and restaurants, wineries and a brewery, library, accommodation, festivals, live music, a cemetery and tennis court.
The museum is closed until late 2020 at least. In the meantime, you can visit us for The Faro Experience.
The Faro Experience
While the museum is shut, Mona’s moveable feast continues: another seven weeks of experimental eats, drinks, and art to order at Faro Bar and Restaurant. Plus live musical entertainment while you’re trying to eat (good luck with that). Plus your only way into the shuttered museum. Plus it’s Christmas lunch season soon. Plus plus.
