We know a thing or two about hospitality as we have been welcoming guests since 1847 – trust in our experience to provide you with a warm welcome and a comfortable stay.
This is Stanley’s ‘local’ – an ideal place for a drink, to chat with the locals, watch sport on the big screen, play pool or listen to music. The Bar has a wood fire blazing, an amazing collection of old black and white photos of Stanley dating back to the 1830’s and comfortable armchairs while waiting for dinner. Good coffee and a great selection of Tasmanian wine, spirits and beer are on tap. You might see the muddy boots left outside the door where our local farmers have popped in for a drink after dropping off their freshly dug potatoes or have a yarn to our fisherman who provide us with our seafood just back from their daily catch.
In our Bistro we like our menu to be simple and uncomplicated, influenced by what we see out our windows – seafood and great steaks and farmed abalone from here in Stanley – emphasising fresh clean flavours. Our suppliers are our friends and are just as likely to be sitting at the table next to you. We provide great pub fare with a stylish restaurant twist. Friendly and knowlegable staff with make you feel very welcome.
After dinner climb the historic stairway to your ensuited freshly renovated room. Comfortable beds and great hot showers will leave you feeling refreshed for the next day to explore all of Stanley’s cafes, galleries and speciality stores. Take the Tarkine Drive and explore the rugged Arthur River and Marrawah areas – then back to us for another comfortable night.
See you soon.
