Table House is a magnificent villa sitting on 60 acres of farmland overlooking Bass Strait – right next door to the iconic Table Cape Tulip Farm.  With grand spaces inside and out and exclusive access to a beautiful beach, it’s an ideal destination for families or friends looking for a special place to get away together.

We built this house on our farm in North West Tasmania especially to be a gathering place for family and friends.  We wanted a place big enough for us all when we get together (whether it’s our children and their families or other couples) to stay under one roof with plenty of space to spread out.

The house has four king bedrooms with ensuites;  a cocktail tower with 360 views;  a huge chef’s kitchen stocked with essentials (foodies love it);  a massive living/dining room with three seating areas, central dining and a wood fire;  two powder rooms, an internal open-air courtyard; central heating;  an awesome sound system to hook your music into;  Telstra TV and Netflix.

We don’t quite understand why, but everyone decides to cook when they get here, wanting to show off their culinary talents. They harvest fresh vegies and salad from the summer “Lockup” (kitchen garden) and now we have a new winter glasshouse (which we call the “Lingerie” – a place to linger) where we’ve started growing winter produce.  The Lingerie was our Covid-19 isolation project.

The house sleeps 8 but we have a couple of extra trundle beds for children.

Don’t be deterred by the winter months.  It’s very cosy by the fire and you’ll be blown away by glorious sunrises and sunsets and the ever-changing moods of the ocean.  The tulips are stunning in October and in summer if you don’t feel like being a tourist you can play croquet, spend days on our beach and catch fish or squid to throw on the barbie, or just chill in one of the many different parts of the house with a good book.

If you’re looking to explore the north-west, Table Cape is at its heart.  There are so many day trips to do from here, including Cradle Mountain which is less than 2 hours away, historic Stanley, Boat Harbour BeachHellyers Road Whisky DistilleryEmu Valley Rhododendron Gardens, Wings Wildlife Park and Woolnorth to name a few.
