Located on a working cattle farm, creating this cozy abode has been a labour of love for owners, Tom and Jo Youl with cladding and much of the custom-made furniture completed by Tom himself. Ideal for groups and families (up to 6 people), the lodge has three beautiful bedrooms all decked out in luxurious bed linen, an Electrolux chef inspired kitchen designed by acclaimed chef Luke Burgess (ex Garagistes) and a bathroom that dreams are made of complete with deep-set bath with sweeping mountain views.

Wombat Lodge sits at the base of stunning Mt Killiecrankie, ideally located within walking distance to a private beach and a variety of local bush walks.  We also provide e-bikes to guests who fancy exploring further afield.

Catering by island-based chef, Mikey Yeo is available on request featuring the very best island produce. Wombat Lodge also features an adjoining events space ideal for special occasions.

Designed by interiors expert, Emily Fitzgerald (who collaborated with the Jo and Tom on The Flinders Wharf fit out) Wombat Lodge’s aesthetic is cosy, fun and thoughtful with an industrial edge. Natural finishes have been selected to weather well and embody the farm environment. The lodge comes to life at sunset as the sun goes down across Bass Strait, bathing the building in warm light. There is no better place to be with a glass of red and a book in hand than curled up under a Waverley Mills alpaca blanket on one of the property’s custom designed day beds by Camm Upholstery.

Wombat Lodge also features bed linen by Abode Living and Jardan, hardware throughout by The Society Inc, luxurious bathroom towels by Kobn, soft furnishings by Pony Rider, Tapware by Brodware Yokato and lighting by Scout House St Kilda, The Lighting Collective and House of Orange.

The walls of the lodge are also adorned with photographic prints by Kara Rosenlund and Adam Gibson showcasing various magical locations on the island

Guests have exclusive access to Wombat Lodge during their stay as well as exclusive use of our on-farm e-bikes.

Wombat Lodge is located on Jo and Tom’s working cattle farm so assistance isn’t far away if you need it.  That being said, guests are given complete privacy for the duration of their stay unless otherwise requested.

Catering packages by island-based chef, Mikey Yeo are available upon request.

Located at the northern-end of Flinders island, Wombat Lodge is situated on a secluded cattle farm walking distance from private beaches and a short drive from the world-famous Killiecrankie Beach.  Guests won’t encounter any human neighbours but will no doubt cross paths with our resident wallabies, wombats and other native critters along with our trusty farm dog Buddy :-).

Uber hasn’t quite made it to Flinders Island yet so we highly recommend renting a vehicle for the duration of your stay. Cars are available through Flinders Island Car Hire and can be collected from Whitemark airport upon arrival.
