Woolmers Estate near Longford in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania, is one of the most historically significant heritage properties in Australia. Woolmers was home to six generations of the Thomas Archer family from 1817 until 1994. Woolmers Estate, together with neighbouring Brickendon, is one of 11 Australian Convict Sites. The property was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 2010. Today, Woolmers Estate offers visitors an immersive authentic experience as well as Rose Garden and state of the art visitor centre which is home to two multipurpose galleries, gift shop and restaurant.
