Great Eastern Wine Weekend
Celebrate the east coast’s cool-climate wines and abundant local fare through a series of indulgent experiences on 4-6 September, hosted by producers and makers.
Along with its dramatic coastline and beaches, Tasmania’s east coast is renowned for its premium food and wine, with boutique wineries and seafood shacks dotted along the coast.
Over three days, the award-winning Great Eastern Wine Weekend showcases the best of the coast, featuring signature “Wine and Dine” events at Freycinet Lodge, unique cellar door experiences and a taste of how the east coast shines, all year-round!
On the Friday, pair an indulgent Melshell oyster tasting with Gala Estate’s wines, before joining a Plumm Glassware masterclass at Craigie Knowe Vineyard. Kick off Saturday with a tasting of the coast’s finest sparkling alongside a sumptuous breakfast at the Farm Shed, or jump aboard the Freycinet Aqua Taxi to pristine Cooks Beach to enjoy Devil’s Corner wines in the heart of Freycinet National Park, before finishing your evening with a 7-course degustation at Furneaux Restaurant. Round out your weekend with pizza, cheese and wine at Overtime Vineyard on Sunday.
Freycinet Lodge is the main accommodation provider and event venue, hosting signature wine events across the weekend, including Meet the Maker and the Great Easter Wine and Dine Dinner.
